Agriculture
Thabazimbi Municipality area covers about 1 000 000ha in total land of farming. It entails about 2000 farms and about 1000 small holdings. Farming is divided into the following categories:
              
IRRIGATION
Irrigation covers about 15 000ha in total along Crocodile and Marico Rivers.
Main crops are as follows:
  1. Winter
    • About 12ha of Wheat
  2. Summer
    • Soya
    • Maize
    • Cotton
    • Red Pepper
    • Sunflower
    • Other Fruits & Vegetables (Watermelons, Pumpkins etc)
              
DRY LAND CRIP PRODUCTION
Farming found in Northam and Dwaalboom areas. Occupies about 4000ha in total. It is a very risky kind of Farming enteprize because of periodic draughts
Main crops are as follows:
a. Sunflower
b. Sorghum
CATTLE AND GAME FARMING
About 50 000 head of cattle are found in the area. It is about 50% of the number 20years ago More than 50% of Farms are Game Fenced.
Emerging Farmers
  1. Stock Farming
    • David Rakgase who occupies 3000ha of land.
    • He owns 300 Cattle, 50 Goats and Game Farming Species (i.e Kudus, Bush pigs and Impalas).
  2. Green Willows Citrus
    • 13 People owns the irrigation farm
    • The farm is 18ha Citrus, 6ha Drip irrigation and 14ha Centre pivot.
  3. Bakgatlha ba Kgafela with 15 000ha of Grazing in Dwaalboom.
